Megaupload Shutdown

Yes you read that right, Megaupload.com was Shutdown and now it has disappeared from the face of the Internet forever most likely.

The website which used to receive more than 4% of the entire Internet traffic has been shut down by the US officials.

The news is all over the Internet and there is a huge hue and cry all over. Thousands of people on the Internet are raising their voices against the Megaupload shutdown.

We had recently covered an article regarding Megaupload.com and now the site is nowhere to be found. We just thought like letting you know guys that the Government is coming hard on File sharing sites and one can definitely expect further shutdowns in the coming days.

The majority of the Internet was blacked out on 18th and 19th in protest against SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) which has create a huge chaos among the Internet crowd.

The companies Megaupload Ltd and Vestor Ltd registered in Hong Kong were charged with Online Piracy and other charges.

In response to the shutdowns official websites of FBI and MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) were attacked by Hackers (some call them Hacktivists). SOPA act is yet to be passed by the US Government and the Megaupload shutdown has come in a schocker to many web enthusiasts.

    The case on Megaupload is under process till now, but there are least chances of this website coming again. Well, lets hope for the best, but till then we can switch to some alternatives like Rapidshare. Good Luck. 🙂
