So many of us take Google maps for granted. It seems like it has always been there, but the truth is, it was launched on February 8, 2005. Relatively not too long ago.
What is Google Maps?
It is a web mapping service by Google that offers satellite imagery, aerial photography, street maps, 360-degree panoramic views of streets, real-time traffic updates, direction by foot, car, bicycle, and public transportation.

What are the different features of Google Maps?
With Google Maps you can search for Restaurants, Hotels, Coffee, Banks, Parking lots, Gas stations, Post offices, Hospitals, Groceries and many other places.
There are 3 different views you can choose from, Map, Satellite and Terrain. There is also Globe, traffic, transit, Bicycling and Street View options available.
You can set Notifications for the time to leave a place for regular and scheduled routes.
There is also an option to share your live location with others.
You can label your places, save places, check places you have visited and create your own map also.
You can contribute to Google Maps to make it better. You can share your reviews, photos, verify facts and collect points while you do this.
The best feature that many people are not aware of is the Timeline. It shows you the history of where you’ve been at what time. This helps you be aware of the places you visited. You can enable or disable this.
