Use Your Own Custom Domain with BlogSpot (Video Included)


Do you have a blog on BlogSpot? Do you want to move on to a domain of your own but want the blog to be hosted on BlogSpot?

It is very easy to add your own domain on BlogSpot, just follow these instructions:

1)  Log on to BlogSpot ;)

2)  Click on BlogSpot Settings for the domain that you want to change settings

3)  Click on Publishing

4)  Click on Custom Domain

5)  Then click on “Already own a domain? Switch to advanced settings”, if you already have bought the domain.

6)  Then type in the domain in the field: Your Domain

7)  Save settings and you are done.

You are done as far as letting BlogSpot know that you want to use a custom domain of your own. But how would you change the settings at your Domain registrar? It is pretty easy; you just have to follow the instructions on this Google page: http://www.google.com/support/blogger/bin/answer.py?hl=en&topic=12451&answer=58317#godaddy

I recommend Godaddy because it is a very competitive domain registrar. Different people have different opinions about it. I have been registering domains with them for over 2 years now. I am one happy Godaddy customer.

All said and done, you should really try Self-hosted WordPress blog as well. The flexibility of self-hosted WordPress is much more than that of BlogSpot.
