Google does not count Meta Keywords, did you know that?

Why am I mentioning the date and the year in this post for the videos? Well those are the actual dates where these videos were released. Matt Cutts here is seen specifying clearly that “Google Ignores Meta Keywords“.
But on the other hand Google does consider meta description and prefers to show that as the snippet while displaying the search result for a given keyword for you blog or site link. This is a very old news but people still believe in using keywords for the comfort factor I believe.
NPXP uses Meta Keywords simply because I have an opinion that it is not such a waste of time. I add tags and keywords promoplty to all of my posts. This comforts me for the fact that I feel that the job is done and also what if other search engines consider meta keywords?
So do not spam or overuse the Meta Keyword field but instead use it wisely in the point of your blog visitors from the search engine.
