There are many reviews out there on the blogosphere about MBP Ping Optimizer Plugin. Some are positive and some are negative, I decided to give it a try in any case. This plugin is not featured in the official plugin database maintained by WordPress.

The plugin is mainly not received well by the people for 1 simple fact. In order to activate the plugin you would need to subscribe to a mailing list powered by Aweber. On the other hand it is simply classified as an awesome plugin for the fact that the default ping service of WordPress does a nasty job of getting your blog banned by many update services. Everytime you update an existing article a new ping is sent out which is quite not necessary.

Why do they ban your blog?

Well it’s like knocking on someone’s door over and over again and telling them that you bought a new car. Makes sense?

So whenever you update your blog search engines and other blog directories are constantly pinged (informed) of the additional content on your blog. It actually pings any sort of change on your blog with reference to the content. When your blog send out too many updates or the pings to the update services then they get pissed off. Finally they will ban you because of all the unnecessary pings.

MaxBlogPress (MBP) Ping Optimizer Plugin does a great job of pinging the services correctly without overdoing it resulting in a ban.
