Is Your Blog Successful Enough?

Isn’t it really disappointing to see that your blog is not successful after all the hard work that you put into it?

I know of people who did everything to make their blog successful but they just failed to capitalize on it. There are instances where I have seen people shutting down or even selling their blog for a low price to help sustain their expenses and get rid of their blogs.

Before you get into any sort of conclusion about making a blog successful you need to understand the term itself. Do you know what makes a blog to be called “successful”?

Is it the money that it generates from the advertisements or is it the popularity among people? It can be something else as well, not everyone blogs for money or to be famous. There are many blogs out there which exist mainly because the successful bloggers love to blog, simple.

Make sure that you don’t get into the mindset similar to that of thousands of other newbie bloggers out there who just blog because they need money. If money is not your objective then what should be then.

For a new blog (less than 4-6 months old) these are the quintessential details that you need to be aware of being a Blogger:

• If you hope to generate money then you need to also accept the fact that the investment plays a big role, both money and time.
• What are you planning to blog? Is it something that is wanted by the whole world or is it something that is targeted upon a specific group of people?
• Keep a monthly target so that you do not get lost with the progress of your blog on the Internet. There are many things that you can consider and make it your target such as Alexa ranking, Google Pagerank (next update in July), Traffic (Visitors), Blog popularity in the blogosphere.
• The number of blog comments and feedbacks that you receive from your friends and strangers across the web.
• The money part should be the last in your list because making money online is an over-saturated concept. You should not ignore this part if you are hoping to make a living out of it in the near future.
• Is anyone else talking about your blog on the web? If not start writing content about something which interests others and can be talked about by others on their blogs as well.
• Look at the bigger picture and ensure that you are working towards your target. Never get bothered by other bloggers who achieve bigger targets in a short span of time. It is very unlikely that they would have used common methods to get where they are now.

Making your blog successful is not just about Money but it is also about the reputation, blog subscribers, daily traffic and other major components. So try to fix everything first and then eye upon the money that you are after.

There is no way that the hard work that you put into is wasted but the essence of smartness carries a lot of weightage in the world of Blogging.
