Will there be a major Google PageRank update in August 2010?
This question is on everybody’s mind and I am specially looking forward for an update myself.
Anyways don’t forget about the Free Domains Contest for August 2010 on NPXP!
Hope Google realizes that they are supposed to update Pagerank. I know that there are a lot of people who frown upon the Pagerank concept. But it really is a comforting factor for bloggers all over the world.
What about you?? Are you looking forward for a Google PR update in August 2010??

Hey, this is Kamal and I operate the NPXP network of websites. I am a blogger as well as a freelancer.
My site’s links got refreshed a few days ago. Does this indicate an incoming pr update?
It can be a sign of pr update
Its November 2010, when is it going to happen? Waiting for the answer.

Why bother about pagerank at all? What difference does it make? I think the mozRank makes more sense to anybody looking for page rank data. Due to link builders and manipulators google shows fake page rank values in most of the cases or change the values within an update period many times. Pagerank has nothing to do with a page ranking as it is named after the inventor, Larry Page.
PR is being updated instantly. Why should we care about so called “updates”?
Still no change.
I can’t decide if google axing the public viewing of PR is a good thing or a bad thing. It’s more difficult to exchange quality links with others if your new and your PR is low. So in that sense, if everyone’s PR was wiped, it would be easier to trade links.
On the other hand, I love the idea of seeing a quantified result of months of hard work. Obviously visitor stats are more important but what can I say, I’m a stickler for PR.
I am hoping that that is definitely the case for all of my sites
I don’t think so… in my case, it took some 2 months…
Well, I’ve moved to http://www.e-armenians.com a couple of months ago. Before my site was just a sub-domain (directory.f5blog.com). I’ve asked DMOZ to change my website URL and description some 2-3 months ago. They responded positively and very quickly. Since then, in DMOZ listing I’ve been getting my updated website title and URL, but in Google Directory still my old sub-domain was appearing. I know that Google Directory updates its listing based on DMOZ. And, recently, some 2-3 days ago, I realized that Google Directory eventually updated its listings and now my old sub-domain is replaced with new domain.
Considering PR change, so far I tracked no change in my and my colleagues’ websites.
Was expecting a PR update at the starting of the september, but no update till maybe its better for me as my traffic increased by huge amount
There hasn’t been a pagerank update since April (nearly 5 months now), which is totally unlike Google. Perhaps the rumors are true that they are axing public viewing of Pagerank.
Artur, how about some evidence that they’ve updated page rank? Of course they are making changes to their directories on a daily basis, but if you are talking about page rank then perhaps explain why you believe this is so.
Today I’ve found that google has already made some updates in its directory.
I don’t get why we dont have PR update.
It is August 31. and the last update was on 02 Apr. 2010.
Hope it will be very very soon…Cheers
i’ve heard from some source that the next update is will be on 31st of september 2010.
is that valid?
PR is still counted as backbone for SEO. I have done lots of changes in my website in terms of link building, page optimization etc.. to get page rank for my website, but still waiting for page rank update. Hope this page rank update will bring good news to webmasters…
i can’t wait to update!
Good post– I’m hoping we will see an update soon as well.
I know a lot of people say Pagerank isn’t an important factor when it comes to your actual rankings, and I personally don’t know whether or not it is. However for me, seeing a higher pagerank is a nice pat on the back after months of hard work link building, optimizing web pages, adding content, etc.
Hoping for sometime in August!!

Hi,
I’m betting on September, since it will be 3 months before New Year.

While we are waiting, where is the ‘future pagerank prediction tool’?
There are a lot about, but many of them no longer work. Also, different tools give different results. So, I’m looking for a tool that still works and is reasonably accurate.
Best PR Prediction I’ve seen so far is here:

Must be soon…
still waiting…
I hope they update the PR soon as well. It hasn’t been updated (in a big way), since April of this year. It is almost as if they skipped the usual June update.
This has been frustrating, because I think pagerank does make a big deal about your serps position. I just hope they hurry and update it soon. Sheesh!
I know the feeling, I’ve been checking my PR often since June and now we’re more than halfway through August and still no update. I think Google PR should just update when the bots revisit your site (like Google cached pages) as it is pointless to try and hide true PR from Internet users since it’s not something you can really undo.
When Pagerank updates though it won’t affect your SERPs as your true PR value hasn’t changed. It is a good indicator though for the amount of SEO or quality backlinks your site has and is great for link exchanges or site authority.
There still hasn’t been a PR update since Google Caffeine, I hope they aren’t planning to discontinue it because in my opinion it’s one of the few things that makes them unique and Bing is looking pretty nice right about now. It’s about to merge with Yahoo as well so Bing+Yahoo will start giving the big G some competition.
All I can say is that if the new Bing+Yahoo offer a more reliable PR type of measurement, I’d probably use them over Google.
waiting from july…. hope it occur this month…
still waiting for major update !!
Lets just hope they don’t decide to stop using pagerank as they have hinted in the past, that would certainly destroy my favourite measurement in the world!
Yes Kamal, I look forward to hear from all fellow bloggers about the update on their PR, though unfortunately the same will be not applicable with me, as I haven’t done any link building .. sadly, but all the best to everyone !
Not check mine yet. But i think my PR didn’t change =)
Hopefully there will be one soon!
