2Shared.com is a File Upload website where you can store your pictures, videos and music online for free. This upload website can be used to save your pictures, video and many other files so that you can share it with anyone on the Internet.
It is mentioned in the about page of the website that 2shared and 4shared are from the same company. Both the file upload sites are famous and used by millions of people around the world. Sharing files on the Internet has never been this easy until these sorts of websites came into existence.
2shared makes it possible for you to store your files online and share them with your friends in just a couple of minutes. By this way you can stop yourself from using pen drives and portable hard drives to save and share your files with other people. You can use the 2Shared.com for free to save your important files and never pay for the service you use. File upload websites like this rely upon advertisement money to provide you with their services at no cost. This model of business can be seen on many popular websites related to file hosting, email service, games website and many more.
Another important thing that would entice you about the 2shared service is that there is no need for you to register for an account. So you can use 2shared.com without paying for anything and also without a registered account. File upload sites like 2Shared are a great boon for people like me who constantly shares files with other people. Many of the times I have to exchange files or upload pictures to share it with people from different countries. This is where 2shared comes into picture and helps me do my job easily. Email services such as Gmail and Yahoo mail are also a great way to send files to someone but the limitations are that you need add individual email addresses each time. But File upload sites can be used to share the same file with any person as long as they have the download link for the file that you want to share.
You can virtually upload files of any extensions like .jpg, .gif, .png, .zip, .rar, .avi, .mp4 and .exe files on 2shared. But the maximum file size per upload is restricted to 200MB, which is pretty good for a normal user like most of us on the Internet.
Uploading a file on 2shared is as easy following these 2 easy steps:
- Go to 2Shared.com and click on Choose Files button
- After you select the desired file hit on Upload it

By doing this your file will be uploaded onto the 2shared.com server and you will be taken to the file management screen. Here you can password protect your upload file and allow only people with password to download it. You can also add publisher name and email address along with file description. There are 2 links that is provided on the screen, one link to share it with people to download the file and the other an admin link for you to manage, delete and edit info about the file. Check out the below image:

You can also use 2shared in order to upload multiple files in a single instance but the catch is that each file should not be more than 100MB in size. You can access the multiple file flash uploader fro the below link:

There is an important feature missing on the 2shared.com website. An option to search files on 2shared is no more available mostly due to recent megaupload.com controversy I suppose. On the FAQ page they still suggest you to use the 2shared search functionality (the link redirects back to the homepage) to get the download links of uploaded files from different people. Apart from that the ‘watch button’ is also missing, this is option is supposed to show the current files that are being downloaded from the website and also lets you sort them by file name, size, by country and many more criteria.
Several Music labels in the USA frown upon file upload sites like 2shared due to the piracy issue. This has been the number 1 reason why Megaupload was shut down few months back. Hopefully 2shared.com remains active for many more years and help people like us easily upload and share files online.
There are hundreds of file upload sites on the Internet and We at NPXP.com try to write about them so that the new people on the web get to know about them as well. It would also be really great if you can share the link for this post on your Facebook wall and tell other people about 2shared file upload website.
