Thank you very much for this information. I just found your article on google searching for blogs and social bookmarking websites that still do follow links, however from what I have seen many don’t follow anymore from so much spam, ruins it for the good people.
Great tips! I have some blogs on my list of daily reads and I make a comment only if I read the article and I have something smart and valuable to say. I hate comments that just say “thanks for sharing”. The way to get traffic and backlinks by commenting on other blogs is to actually read those blogs and get into the community. Find 20 blogs in your niche that interest you, add them to your list of daily reads and then participate in debates.

Spamming is just a mere waste of time for both the parties. It is very irritating at times as well.

This looks like a good question. The answer is simple, two or three comments are not a problem, but the problem comes when you make comments on irrelevant blogs on a regular basis. So keep the tips in mind and do not post comments on irrelevant blogs on a daily basis.

@Hami Commenting once or twice or rarely it’s kinda ok.
But making it a regular habit on a day to day basis can really mean no positive effects if not any negative.
If you are a general blogger and cover a lot of topics then you can surely go ahead and comment on them.
Remember that Google as we know of is smart. It categorizes each and every site. So think smart and act according to this tip-off.. lol.
